=13pxEveryone seems to like the Pub we normally use for this match, so shall we go for the same again? It’s the Fox and Hounds in Caversham:
=13px
=13px
=13pxThey run a bus from there to the stadium at 2.15, returning after the game, via the train station. Cost of a round trip is £5. Last year they let us take a pint onto the bus for the journey to the stadium! Unlike previous years, they will be serving food at lunchtime, but it is just pizzas, ranging from £5-£12.

=13pxDirections:

=13pxWalking is probably just over 10 minutes. A taxi would take 5 minutes and cost about £6.
=13px
=13pxTo walk:
=13px =13px
=13pxTake the rear (new) exit from Reading station, signposted North Reading/Caversham.(There is a taxi rank here if you are planning on taking a taxi)
=13pxWalk to the dual carriageway, and cross over straight away at the pedestrian lights (you will be heading directly towards Sovereign House).
=13pxOnce you have crossed the road, straight ahead is a little service road between Sovereign House and the Covea building (I think it is called Norman Place). Take this and you will come to the river in about a minute.
=13pxTurn to your left and cross the pedestrian bridge.
=13pxOnce you have crossed the bridge, the path splits three ways – take the path straight on, walking away from the river, heading for a rectangular blue bin (!) about 300 yards ahead. You will pass a red brick pavilion on your right, with a green turret. Once you have passed the bin, you will pass what was a football pitch, but the last time I passed the posts had been removed, and then emerge onto a road. Turn left and the pub is shortly on your left.

=13pxAny problems on the day call me on 07722 476 130 - NOTE THIS IS A NEW NUMBER (SINCE LAST AUGUST)
=13px
=13pxThe Pub doesn’t open until 12, so if you get there before then and fancy a swift half the Baron Cadogan opens early. To get there, just walk past the Fox & Hounds until you come to a mini roundabout (about a minute or so’s walk). Turn right and the Baron Cadogan is on your left in half a minute. Link is here:

=13pxLook forward to seeing you all on the day!

Judging by the excited chatter on this topic, this is an eagerly awaited trip...
Who is coming along to the Pub beforehand - looks like Bowblue, Ramsgate, ABA (plus your usual student chums? - get out your mat and pray to the West?!), Glyn - are you training or driving and following the bus?, myself and the General.
Any more for any more?!
Looking forward to it....
