I am coming to this one too, by train but not from from London, as I'm in North Suffolk. Where are we meeting - pub? Italian restaurant?

Or, I could meet you off your train if that's easier? I can get a train which arrives at Ipswich about half an hour before yours.

Hi Andy,
Will head to the pub opposite the station when we get to Ipswich.
Don't plan on staying long, but we can meet there.
I think the plan is to go for lunch just after 12.
Any recommendations as to where we can eat?

Hi Paul,
That's good. That'll be the Station Hotel,then. I'll either get into Ipswich at 10.36 and meet you off the train or at 11.36 and meet you in the pub.
Re places to eat, I'm afraid I hardly know Ipswich at all ( tend to go to Norwich rather than Ipswich), so haven't got a clue. Have had a quick look on Tripadvisor and there are two Italian places that a lot of people seem to like in St Peter's Street ( Valentino's and Locanda di Parma.) which is central so not too far from Portman Road. Have a look- see what you think. In any case, will make a more thorough search to see what else there is.
