Re: Reading Away Easter Saturday 4th April

What time trains are people getting? I'm looking at 09:28, 09:58 or 10.28. May have a drink in Reading before heading for the Fox and Hounds.
Train fare is £18.00 return, but if three or more travel together its £11.90 each.

Re: Reading Away Easter Saturday 4th April

Here's an updated list of attendees on Sat:

Chris O
Mrs O
Glyn T
Bryen
Fat Cat
Slim Cat (!)
Jo M
Neil - Ramsgate
Steve - Romford plus 2
Paul - Bow
Nick - ABA plus 2

So, 15 in total.

Glyn - let me know if you are planning on driving to the ground or need a ticket for the bus.

I will check this board before buying the tickets for the bus, so if anybody drops out or decides to come then please post here by 11.30 on Sat.

For those who want an early drink, the Three Guineas at the station opens at 11 - it's an OK but not brilliant pub but has the advantage of being easy to get to! Taxis are right outside it and should only cost about £6 to the Fox and Hounds, or you can still walk it using the directions posted previously. If you want to walk, take the underpass to the right of the pub as you exit it which will take you to the North exit of the station and follow my directions from there...

See you all on Sat!!

Re: Reading Away Easter Saturday 4th April

South west trains are doing a £15 return from Waterloo.

My dad told me a story about the Three Guineas once. I can't remember the detail but it involved a lot of violence - and he was fom Ely! Anyway, it was probably decades ago, you'll be fine

Re: Reading Away Easter Saturday 4th April

Hi Jo! I do tend to avoid the 3G's as it's not the most inspiring of pubs, but I think that if people arrive early and want a swift drink it's not a bad and v easy option. I have never seen any trouble there, but wouldn't recommend drinking later on in the day there when more City/Reading fans arrive!! Hopefully everyone will survive and make it to the F&H and then the game....!

Re: Reading Away Easter Saturday 4th April

I'm sure your info is much more up to date than mine Chris. Surely nobody starts a fight in a pub before midday in any case! See you in the Fox and Hounds.

Chris , In the circumstances I shall meet up with one and all at the pub but then drive to the ground as I will then be near the M4 at the end of the game , so no bus place needed for me.

Cheers , Glyn
