Hoping to do this one. Finally have a day off when City are playing....and I'll get a free ticket with tickets for troops

Kyle, will they give free tickets to former Boy Scouts and Boys Brigaders?

You never know Ross. Wigan will do anything to get a crowd

Re: Wigan away Saturday 22nd April.3pm.

Glyn,

Are you travelling via London? The train looks expensive so we need to decide soon as the costs increase considerably closer to the date of travel. Also, we need to bear in mind that the station is 1.4 miles from the ground.

To and from Euston to Wigan North Western trains are as follows:
OUT 09:30 to 11:25 = 1hr 55 mins at £26.40 and 10:30 to 12:25 again = 1hr 55 mins at £26.40
BACK The 17:28 would be too early probably and takes too long. We can get the 18:09 to 20:19 = 2 hr 10 mins at £18.50.

Please note the cost at £44.90 return is for over 60s. Youngsters under 60 pay one third more I'm afraid.

Which train out, and can anyone get better rates? We could buy a group ticket for less if we organise ourselves which we don't normally do as people don't necessarily want to commit themselves in advance these days.

Re: Wigan away Saturday 22nd April.3pm.

Further to the above, I have tried splitting the tickets which does not result in a reduction. Also, have looked at several train ticket sites without securing a reduction. Megatrain does not go to Wigan - Megabus does travel to Wigan but the times are hopeless (though cheap at £9 each way for all). Over 60s would save £12 training it via Manchester (£16 for under 60s as 33% more) but Manchester to Wigan alone varies in time but is 27 -43  minutes each way. London to Manchester takes longer than London to Wigan, so this fair price saving would add about 3 hours travelling time in total allowing for waiting about at stations - not worth it I think.

If all goes to plan I will be driving up. So if needs be I could have room for 3
